Riverlinx, on behalf of TFL, is designing and building a new 1.4km twin-lane tunnel under the river Thames, which will be completed in Spring 2025. The tunnel, which will link North Greenwich and Silvertown for the first time will help reduce congestion at the Blackwall Tunnel as well as allow for new zero-emission bus routes across the river. We have been appointed by Riverlinx to design, supply and install the glazing works to the Greenwich and Newham portal buildings either side of the Thames.

Plans for the Silvertown Tunnel have a clear focus on security, safety and cleaner transport, with zero emission bus routes using the tunnel from launch, and the crossing being located within the Ultra Low Emission Zone. Working from the outset with a clear strategy combining design and security protection, we developed the architectural intent to compliment the aesthetics of the scheme and achieve the specifications of the project.
