Opportunity:

As a key supply chain partner to Osborne, NACWL were engaged to carry out the design, supply and installation of the full facade envelope to the stunning new hospitality and visitors centre at RHS Wisley. The brief was to incorporate natural materials to compliment the surrounding grounds, through careful planning and design, NACWL aided in the proposals of several key material choices.

Proposal:

Between cladding elements, NACWL used a combination of Schueco SG and capped curtain wall. In areas, a bespoke chestnut brise soleil fin system was hung from the curtain walling, windows and doors along with stunning bespoke glazed canopies

Environmental:

The systems we used within Wisleys laboratories included high security door sets (with keycode/card access control) and temperature-controlled actuators within windows that automatically open/close the units to aid climate control.

LED lighting has been installed throughout, which automatically adjusts with the level of daylight in each area to ensure minimum wastage of power. All materials were sourced responsibly including Schueco systems, which incorporate 40% recycled aluminium and 20% cullet. Timber classing and brise soleil, which benefits from a full FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Chain of Custody. The facade provides exceptional performance values, which contribute to an energy efficient and comfortable space for users.

These include:

U-values: Ranging from 1.1 to 1.1.8 w/m2K
