ENVIRONMENTAL

As an ISO14001 registered company, we have a key objective to manage our business sustainably and ensure we protect the environment.

Practical ways of working to reduce the environmental impact of our installed works are identified across all our projects. A bespoke environmental evaluation is conducted for each project site and beyond striving to reduce every project’s ecological footprint we take an eco-efficient approach focused on lifecycle improvements.

Our design service proactively works with clients, supporting eco-efficiency building envelope design by suggesting energy-efficient and safe building materials. The thermal performance, thickness, and colour of the materials used in the outer shell of buildings play a significant role in regulating the heat loss, and gain, of the building, supporting eco-efficiency. Wherever practicable local suppliers are used for materials to minimise travel distance, subject to the client’s approval.

FIRE

Members of our team proactively monitor the progression of changes to fire safety legislation concerning the role of materials in the built environment.

We are investing in staff training and development including attending industry symposiums to ensure we fully understand current, and future, responsibilities relating to fire safety in the design, specification, testing, erection, and lifetime use of building materials and systems.

NACWL has made a conscious step towards using Class A1 materials wherever possible as an immediate action.
