Client: Ecoworld
Architect: Acanthus
Sector: Residential
Project Type: Design supply install cladding

Ballymore awarded us the contract to design, supply and install primary steel, composite panels, acoustic screening, doors, louvred roofs and brickslip to the plant room and penthouse roof gardens areas situated on the top of six individual residential tower blocks at the London City Island development. The scope includes:

  • Fabricated Steelwork columns and secondary members
  • Kingframe SFS
  • Corium brickslip
  • Trimoterm structural composite panels
  • Duco Aluminium louvres systems
  • Reynaers aluminium doors
  • Assa Abloy steel doors

NACWL Proposal

The tallest of the tower blocks was 23 storeys high, therefore design of the steelwork and panels had to be planned around the hoist/limited cranes available to lift items to the roof and to enable manual installation. We changed the architects proposed panels for a much better performing rockwool filled Trimo panel and also altered the orientation of panels in some difficult areas to enable safe installation.

NACWL had to overcome some difficult access situations working in and around some major M&E installations, achieving some difficult air seal details around the residential penthouse garden pop-ups but air tests were passed first time!
